Opik Diagnose is a read-only AI agent skill designed to assist developers in identifying critical production issues by analyzing live traces and diagnostics data. It surfaces the most relevant traces needing attention, ranked by signal strength, to optimize the debugging process.
What this skill does
Surfaces Opik traces that require a developer's focus, prioritized by signal strength. Prioritizes diagnostics issues first, followed by errors, failed tool calls, latency, regressions, and low online evaluation scores.
Operates both with and without the Opik MCP connection. When connected, it lists the project's agent_insights_issue entities. Without the MCP, it reads these through the SDK using agent_insights and search_traces functionalities.
Generates a ranked shortlist of online and production traces worth attention, each accompanied by the signal that flagged it and the trace ID.
Facilitates triage processes by supplying information ready to be processed by the explain skill via the `/opik-explain` command.
Focuses exclusively on live data; it is not suited for offline experiment evaluation or individual trace root cause analysis.
Who it is for
This skill is intended for developers and engineering teams using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. It is particularly beneficial for those responsible for monitoring and maintaining AI systems in a production environment.
Use cases
Identifying and addressing "what is broken in production" promptly.
Efficiently finding and reviewing traces that may be failing or running slowly.
Determining which tool calls are resulting in failure.
Assisting in the triage of AI agents by highlighting issues requiring immediate action.
Technical details
Utilizes Opik MCP and SDK integrations for its operations.
Fully compatible with AI agent environments such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
Operates on live data to ensure relevant insights for maintaining production systems.
