Product Description

Master Attic Commands is an AI skill designed for Claude & Codex, offering a streamlined approach to managing context within AI-assisted coding environments. The skill supports developers in offloading contextual data into a dedicated storage called ".attic/" to maintain a leaner chat interface.

What this skill does

  • Offloads context into the ".attic/" directory, keeping the chat environment uncluttered. Users can set the offload level to lite, full, ultra, or off, with full being the default.

  • Allows setting a default level for new sessions using the command "/attic default".

  • Enables stashing of recent findings, results, or decisions with "/attic-stash [title]".

  • Facilitates recalling and summarizing stashed items with "/attic-recall".

  • Lists all stashed items in a project using "/attic-index".

  • Prepares and saves the current state with "/attic-sweep" command, ideally run before executing "/compact".

  • Allows pinning crucial items to prevent trimming with "/attic-pin [--unpin]".

  • Archives obsolete items via "/attic-prune [--apply]". This is a dry-run by default.

  • Checks for drift, orphaned data, and leaked confidential information using "/attic-doctor".

  • Provides user guidance through the "/attic-help" command.

Who it is for

This skill is tailored for developers and teams who use AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. It benefits those seeking to enhance the efficiency and organization of their development workflow by reducing clutter and improving context management.

Use cases

  • Developers managing complex projects requiring structured context management to maintain clarity in AI interactions.
  • Teams aiming to streamline their AI coding sessions, ensuring relevant information remains easily accessible while extraneous context is archived.
  • Scenarios where repetitive data entry can be minimized by stashing results and findings efficiently.

Technical details

The skill utilizes specific tools and commands to interact with a dedicated storage system known as ".attic/". Commands such as "/attic-stash", "/attic-recall", and "/attic-index" facilitate efficient data management, while "/attic-doctor" ensures integrity and security by checking for drift and orphans. The skill can be configured to various levels of context stashing from lite to ultra based on user needs.
