Forge AI Skill: Transform Issues into Shipped Fixes
The Forge AI Skill capability enables AI agents to autonomously transform software issues, tickets, or pull requests (PRs) into implemented and shipped fixes. Upon invocation, it formulates a comprehensive plan, seeks user approval, and then executes the implementation lifecycle. This is suitable for Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex environments.
What this skill does
The Forge AI Skill follows a structured two-part process:
Part 1 — The Gate (Steps 1–6): This phase includes classifying the issue, fetching relevant data, creating a branch, providing context, and proposing a plan. The process pauses at a gate where the user must approve the plan. In automode, the user approval requirement can be bypassed under sanctioned conditions.
Part 2 — Lifecycle (Steps 7–12): Once approved, the AI skill undertakes implementation, enters a review loop, refactors, creates spin-off actions if necessary, evolves self-progress where applicable, and closes the fix. No codebase is altered without explicit user confirmation unless operating in automode.
Who it is for
This skill is designed for developers and software development teams that utilize AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex. It assists those responsible for managing software issues and seeking efficient transformation of these issues into completed solutions.
Use cases
Developers in need of a streamlined process to convert software issues or tickets into implemented fixes.
Teams looking for facilitated plan approvals and automated execution while maintaining control over their codebase.
Organisations adopting AI agents to manage coding workflows and reduce repetitive manual oversight.
Technical details
