Effortless CLI Review with AI: Greptile Skill for Codex
The Effortless CLI Review with AI: Greptile Skill for Codex enables users to initiate a Greptile command-line interface (CLI) review for the current local branch, providing a JSON summary of findings. This skill is intended for those who need Greptile feedback prior to a pull request outside a hosted review flow, or directly from a local repository checkout.
What this skill does
Verifies if the process starts from the current git repository root using git rev-parse --show-toplevel. If unsuccessful, informs the user to run the review within a git repository.
Checks for the installed Greptile CLI with command -v greptile. If not installed, prompts the user for permission to use the recommended install command: npm i -g greptile or the shell installer curl -fsSL "https://greptile.com/cli/install" | sh.
Ensures the user is authenticated with the Greptile CLI using greptile whoami. If authentication is lacking, guides the user through the login process with greptile login.
Runs the Greptile review, preferring JSON output via greptile review --json. If unsupported, defaults to greptile review --agent.
