Code Changes Explained: AI Agent for Plain Language Diffs
This software skill provides plain language explanations of code changes to help users understand modifications in their codebase without needing to analyze technical diff outputs. It offers two distinct modes: a simplified storytelling approach and a structured per-file walkthrough.
What this skill does
Identifies the current branch using git branch --show-current.
Checks for uncommitted changes with git status --porcelain.
If on the master/main branch:
With uncommitted changes, explains these specific changes.
If the working tree is clean, reports no changes to explain.
If on a feature branch:
Consults the user if uncommitted changes exist, to focus explanation on either these changes or the entire branch diff versus master.
With a clean working tree, automatically explains the branch diff versus master.
Generates explanations in the language the user is currently using.
